I have as much fun planning trips as I do going on voyages. I can say that I have always had good trips even with a delay, bad weather, etc. Traveling is my passion so I embrace every trip and make the best. In sharing my adventures with you maybe I can spark your desire to travel. Warning - I'll be sharing my misadventures as well. But I know you will all be laughing while reading no chronological order, I'll just post them as they pop into my head (scary I know)

Almost the End......Last Day at Sea.....
The beginning of the end
September 3, 2014
Our last full day at sea. It is always this day that I regret so much because it's coming to an end. I have made friends that I'm not ready to stop talking to, laughed way too much and seen spectacular things on my journey. It's also the day that I say to myself "did I do enough, did I see it all, did I 'eat' it all". And like clockwork I say to myself.........YES ! I had an amazing time and I'm looking forward to my next voyage.
Now hubby on the other hand is right about now thinking "I ate too much, I walked too much, and I didn't sleep enough.......".
On our last day at sea we were heading to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Now mind you our fellow passengers were like me still trying to find that one more whale tail. We were sitting out on the balcony having coffee when low and behold what did I hear but the thunderous voice of a fellow passenger yelling "THAR SHE BLOWS......" I jump up and look aft (towards the rear of the ship....pay attention there will be a quiz) and sure as my little eyes focused there was the "blow". I was thankful to our seafaring friend because he yelled this all day long making the 'where's Waldo-ish" game fun.
At sea days are very full.......of bingo........just kidding. There are a lot of activities planned to keep the guests and crew occupied. Stretching and relaxing at 7:30am, followed by Body Blitz Boot Camp, Lawn Games, Table Tennis, Trivia, Weather updates, and.............
Seminars = one of the most informative was about just exactly where and when we are going to spot Orca's when we are coming into Victoria tomorrow. I certainly hope we get to see those as well.
And executive chef Markus gave a cooking demo preparing healthy Alaskan delights
MORE......shopping, hot glass shows....oh and bingo....Watch sale, art preview, dance class, fitness seminar, chiropractic seminar, zumba, final Tanzanite & Diamond Sale, future cruise sales presentation, Texas Hold-em Poker Tournament, wine tasting, matinee shows, Just Dance on x-box, .....oh and bingo.......LeVian showcase, guitar and vocals trio playing throughout the ship, trivia, Movies.....oh and bingo.
Now after all that it's time for dinner, I try to fit a nap somewhere in there because even though it's "at sea" day it doesn't by any means call for an early night. Oh no my friend, there will be visits to the Martini Bar, Molecular Bar, Disco and Lawn Club.
Sorry, we had a little detour.......
back to the story
It's also the last Formal Evening of the cruise. This is, again one of my fav things to look forward to because with our busy lives we don't have time for professional photos and I do find cruise ships have great staff in their photo studio. So we dress up and head out for dinner. Dan has such broad shoulders that it looks as if I don't want to be close to him in this photo....soooo not the case. Although challenging for photo ops it was those shoulders that caught my eye so very long ago.
Photo shoot finished, now onto the festivities..............
First on tap is the featured film Philomena showing in Celebrity Central on deck 4. We skipped this showing however because we were h-u-n-g-r-y. Roasted Leg of Lamb was being presented in the Main Dining Room the Grand Epernay Restaurant, a dish not to be missed. At 8pm Captain Taramas came out to Cellar Masters (their quality wine bar which is more of a little cool cave full of wines that you have never heard of) on Deck 4 to pose for photos with those so inclined. They also had a red-carpet shindig, you could sip champagne and mingle during this glamorous event. There was a one hour VIP special offer on Aquamarine Snowflakes, Zultanite and colored diamonds and gemstones.......break out that sea-pass card men the bling was hard to pass up. Everyone should walk the red carpet at least once in their life.
Passing thru the solarium we spy this delight. Having walked this ship bow to stern several thousand foot steps in the last 6 days you would have thought I would have seen this before tonight. Ah well it's probably a good thing, I might have parked my butt there and not moved.
From 7pm throughout the night live music was everywhere. Also fun was a Karaoke final, and a "Wipe Out" casino draw. The watch of the day was the Tag Heuer Aqua Racer. And in the Solstice Theater on Decks 4 and 5 was a Cirque-du-sort-of-soleil show that was GREAT! There was flying, climbing, mime, you name it we saw it. And then at 11:30pm the last Sin City Comedy show.
I decided to cash out my winnings from the casino slot machines Sex and the City...and....The Hangover. Look at me big winner.
Ahhhh yes and I'm also a sucker for little towel animals. But I know I'm not the only one, I overheard another lady saying she didn't get one the night before and was a tad bit saddened. I can relate.
Tomorrow is Victoria, we don't port until 6pm so in reality we have almost another sea day to enjoy libations and waves along with bingo, hot glass shows.....by now you have gotten it !
Tomorrow Victoria, British Columbia, Canada........now where did I put my passport...........
